Dr. György Sagvari

Born in 1948, CSc, historian, head of the Institute and Museum for Military History in Budapest and curator of their uniform collection. His main field of research is 18th – 19th century military history, in particular the history of Hungarian uniforms. He has written numerous books and academic articles, mainly on the following subjects: the relationship between the military and society, military and cultural history of the hussars, history of dress and uniform, museology. His works have been published in Hungarian, German and English. He is the organiser of many well-received historical and academic exhibitions.
