Dr. Frank Buchholz
Born in 1962, studied education and military history at the Bundeswehr University in Hamburg and at the University of Bremen. Dissertation on military planning and the use of nuclear weapons in the early period of the Bundeswehr, especially the differences between American and German strategic thinking. After twelve years of service in the armoured and anti-tank forces, Dr. Buchholz left the Bundeswehr with the rank of Hauptmann (Captain) and today works as a freelance consultant. He collects German, British and American firearms of the First World War, is a lifetime member of the renowned Colt Collectors Association and secretary of the German Society for Military Studies, and publishes regularly in the Journal of Military Studies.
