Christophe Pommier

The special interest of Christophe Pommier, who is ­assistant curator in the artillery department of the Musée de l’Armée in Paris, is the war of 1870-1871 and the history of weaponry, especially the innovations in artillery in the 19th and 20th centuries. He has not only authored articles and publications on these topics, but was also co-curator of the exhibition France-Allemagne(s) 1870-1871 : la guerre, la Commune, les memoires (France-Germany 1870-1871: The War, the Commune, the Memories), which was shown in the Musée de l’Armée in spring 2017. He also teaches in the field Patrimoine et archéologie militaries (Military Cultural Heritage and Battlefield Archaeology) at the École du Louvre and regularly authors articles for the magazine Guerres & Histoire.
