Adolf Schlicht

Born on 5 January 1922. After passing school leaving certificate he became a soldier in June 1940 (officer candidate in the infantry). After attending the military academy in Wiener Neustadt he became a second lieutenant at the end of 1942. Operations at the front in Russia and Italy (44th Infantry Division). January 1944 POW at Cassino (Italy), then POW in the USA for two years. 1946 commercial employee. 1956 again soldier ( first lieutenant)in the newly created Bundeswehr. Employment as company, battalion and brigade commander. Instructor at officers’ schools. Retirement in 1981. Married, three children.
